As a rule, you can only receive a residence permit for general school attendance from the 9th grade onwards. In exceptional cases, the residence permit can also be issued for attendance at a lower grade level.

The residence permit for general school attendance is a temporary residence permit. It is issued for the duration of school attendance.

During the period of residence for school attendance, a change of purpose of residence is generally only possible in cases of entitlement to the issue of another residence title.
