Applying for exemption from the ID card requirement for permanently accommodated persons

If you are likely to be permanently accommodated in a hospital, nursing home or similar facility, you may be exempt from the obligation to have an ID card.

Description

Description

If you are likely to be permanently accommodated in a hospital, nursing home or similar facility, you may be exempt from the obligation to have an ID card.
This is the case, for example, if you are no longer able to live in your home due to your state of health.
If you are no longer able to apply for exemption for yourself, an authorized person can do this for you.
You can revoke the exemption at any time. All you need to do is apply for an identity card or passport.
