Excavations for cultural monuments, salvage of cultural monuments from bodies of water and earthworks at a site where cultural monuments are suspected to be in the ground require the approval of the competent authority.

Permission may be granted subject to conditions, e.g.

• Management of the measure by an expert,
• Type of planning and execution,
• treatment, securing and documentation of the soil finds,
• reporting,
• final preparation of the excavation or find site.
