Have the electoral roll for the direct election corrected

Description

Description

As a German or a national of the European Union who has reached the age of 16 on election day, you are entitled to vote in the electoral area in which you have had your residence, main residence or habitual abode without a residence outside the electoral area for at least three months prior to the election.

You will be entered in the electoral roll ex officio as a person entitled to vote if you are entitled to vote on the 42nd day before the election and are not excluded from the right to vote.

If you have moved to the area three months before the election and are registered, you will be entered in the voters' register ex officio. If this does not happen, you can apply to be entered until the start of the inspection period. When calculating the three-month period, the day on which you take up residence or stay is included in the period.

You will be granted access on working days from the 20th to the 16th day before the election during the general opening hours of the municipal authority. You can check the accuracy and completeness of your own data. You can also check the data of other persons if you yourself are entitled to vote and can provide credible evidence that the electoral roll is incorrect or incomplete. You can submit an application to correct the electoral roll to the municipal administration within the inspection period. An application to remove a person from the electoral roll may only be granted after they have been given the opportunity to make a statement. The municipal administration or the municipal election committee must notify the parties involved of the decision on the request for correction no later than the fourth day before the election. The decision on the request for rectification is final, subject to review in the election review procedure.
