Health assistance is granted without time limit, taking into account income and assets. It includes all benefits that the statutory health insurance fund grants to its insured persons.
This includes above all
- medical treatment
- dental treatment
- orthodontic treatment
- dentures
- hospital treatment
- provision of medicines, dressings, remedies and spectacles
- home nursing care.
Preventive assistance, such as preventive check-ups and convalescent cures, is also provided.
Pregnancy / maternity:
During pregnancy and maternity
- medical treatment and care as well as midwife assistance,
- Provision of medicines, dressings and remedies,
- care in an institution or home,
- home care and
- maternity allowance
is granted.
Outpatient treatments:
Sickness benefit for outpatient treatment is granted in the form of a sickness certificate, which is issued by the Social Welfare Department outside of institutions if necessary. For further services such as
- orthodontic treatment
- dentures
- remedies and aids, e.g. massages, physiotherapy,
- spectacles
- home nursing care
- health cures
- hospital treatment
a separate application is required.
Inpatient treatment is provided by the Social Welfare Department in facilities.
