It goes without saying that avoiding the loss of housing is a high priority. The Department of Social Affairs and Senior Citizens therefore strongly recommends contacting the relevant Social Services team at the first sign of losing your home and making use of the help available.

However, the Social Services and Senior Citizens Department also acts as a homelessness authority in accordance with the provisions of the Lower Saxony Public Safety and Order Act (Nds. SOG) and provides emergency housing in the event of loss of accommodation.
