Salzgitter

Subsidies and grants

The Social Welfare Department of the City of Salzgitter is responsible for supporting independent welfare organizations, social associations, social institutions and interest groups.

Granting of subsidies

These associations and representative bodies must be dedicated to the prevention, alleviation or elimination of social emergencies for humanitarian or socio-political reasons.

This is based on the relevant statutory provisions. On application, projects and measures are funded in accordance with SGB XII, the NPflegeG or, if applicable, contractual obligations. Applications can be submitted to the City of Salzgitter by January 31 of each year.

There is no legal entitlement to the grant. Whether and to what extent grants are awarded depends on the requirements of the relevant guidelines. The amount of funds made available in the budget is also decisive. If sureties, guarantees or other warranties can fulfill the purpose of the grant, no grants may be approved.

Grants will only be approved in accordance with the General Guidelines. The following criteria must be taken into account when funding measures. Proof must be provided to the specialist department that the grant has been used for the intended purpose.

Criteria of the City of Salzgitter for the promotion of measures:

I. In addition to supporting independent welfare organizations in accordance with Section 5 (2) SGB XII, the City of Salzgitter also works with other social welfare providers. In this field of work, which supports the social work of third parties and thus the subordination of social welfare within the meaning of Section 2 SGB XII, voluntary benefits are only granted by the City of Salzgitter within the framework of the applicable budget if
- the needs correspond to social planning objectives and
- the needs with regard to the objective and target group are not already offered in the described social area.

II The City of Salzgitter's voluntary funding, which is to be prioritized according to the need criteria "indispensable" - "important" - "desirable" in terms of social policy, is geared towards the fulfillment of social objectives and basically serves as a complementary means of initiating corresponding projects in the following fields of action:
- Integration of unemployed welfare recipients into the world of work
- Improving the situation of single parents
- Strengthening volunteers and institutions working in the district
- Forming and improving social networks
- Improving the living situation of older people
