The Salzgittersee is the recreation center for southeast Lower Saxony and Salzgitter. It offers pure recreational fun. Admission to the Salzgittersee is free of charge.

Bathers at Salzgittersee

If you would like to fortify yourself during a long day at Salzgittersee, you can either stop off at the "Café Seeterrasse" (south-east bank) or, if you are feeling peckish, head to the "Bistro am See" (west bank).

The 10 clubs based on Salzgittersee focus on rowing, sailing, surfing, canoeing, fishing, diving, water rescue and model boats: Ruderclub am Salzgittersee, Segelclub Salzgitter, Surf-Klub Salzgitter, Wasserwanderer Salzgitter, Kanu-Club Salzgitter, ASV Fuhsetal, TG Jugenddorf Salzgitter - Tauchsportabteilung SEPIA, Marinekameradschaft Salzgitter, DLRG Ortsgruppe Lebenstedt, Schiffsmodellclub Salzgitter.

Naturally, Salzgittersee is one of the ideal spots for all kinds of water sports. But anyone else who wants to spend their leisure time actively will also get their money's worth here. The repertoire of sports and leisure activities offered by the lake and its surroundings is huge.

For active people: water ski cable car, sailing, rowing, surfing, canoeing, canoe and pedal boat hire, tennis, beach volleyball, beach soccer, cycling, inline skating, jogging, walking, diving
Sports facilities at the leisure sports facility on the south-west side of the lake: Finn running track, long jump, table tennis, badminton, basketball, handball, soccer, roller hockey
The gliding airfield of the AERO sports association is also located in the immediate vicinity of Salzgittersee.

For pleasure-seekers: swimming, sunbathing, barbecue areas, playgrounds, art on the lake
