As part of the federal funding program "Sustainable inner cities and centers", the city of Salzgitter and the Salzgitter Economic and Innovation Promotion Agency have commissioned CIMA Beratung + Management GmbH from Hanover to draw up two concepts for the strategic further development of the weekly markets in Salzgitter-Bad (Marktplatz) and Salzgitter-Lebenstedt (Chemnitzer Straße). The aim is to anchor the markets more firmly as places of supply, experience and identity in the urban space and to position them for the future. The concepts should also serve as a blueprint for other markets in Salzgitter.
An extensive public participation process is being launched to develop the concept:
