On Tuesday, November 4, a new group course "Progressive Muscle Relaxation" (PMR) according to Jacobson for mentally ill people begins in the medical library of the Salzgitter Health Department in Salzgitter-Bad, Paracelsusstraße 1 - 9.

Mentally ill people can get to know and practise the easy-to-learn relaxation method "PMR" together in a group once a week without the pressure of perfection.

People with mental health problems in particular are all too familiar with negative emotional states such as anxiety, nervousness and stress from their everyday lives. As a result of constant unpleasant emotions and worries, the muscles automatically tense up, which can become a permanent condition. Mental pain intensifies and physical pain symptoms often result.

With the help of "PMR", participants learn to consciously tense the individual muscle groups in their body and to relax them again in a targeted manner. This makes it easier to let go on a physical, mental and emotional level and become more relaxed.

The course lasts eight weeks and takes place every week on Tuesdays from 2 to 3.30 pm. The course ends on December 23.

Participation is free of charge; registration is possible by calling 05341 / 839-2031.
