For three weeks - until July 5 - citizens can once again pedal hard to collect as many bike kilometers as possible.
A special highlight this year:
For the first time, all participants who cycle more than 100 kilometers during the campaign period will be entered into a prize draw to win a high-quality e-bike worth 3,500 euros. The sponsor from Radstudio Salzgitter and Volksbank BraWo want to create additional incentives for participation. Accordingly, Nicole Mölling from the Volksbank is calling on the people of Salzgitter to take part: "Let's conquer the city, protect the environment and have fun exercising. Join in and set an example for sustainable mobility!" Sven Strube from Radstudio Salzgitter also makes a plea for this form of transportation: "Cycling is simply fun, keeps you fit and makes a positive contribution to climate protection. We are delighted when more and more people - especially children and young people - get on their bikes and discover how practical and uncomplicated it is to get around in everyday life."
SCHOOL CYCLING
The schools taking part in SCHULRADELN - or rather the pupils of Salzgitter - will be awarded particularly valuable prizes this year. The two schools with the best performance will receive vouchers for the purchase of new sports equipment worth 1,500 euros each. The three best classes can look forward to an adventure trip organized by the Salzgitter-based company Naventure. And the best individual performances will also be rewarded with leisure vouchers for all municipal sports facilities (ice rink, Stadtbad and thermal baths). This is made possible by the new sponsors of SCHULRADELN, BKK Salzgitter and BKK Public. For them, the focus is on health aspects. "Especially in today's media age, exercise is becoming increasingly important for the health of children and young people. We are therefore looking forward to as many registrations as possible from pupils, school classes and schools in Salzgitter," emphasizes Matthias Frenzel, CEO of BKK Salzgitter and BKK Public.
E-bike to be won as part of the CITY CYCLING competition
On the occasion of the 5th edition of the Salzgitter CITY CYCLING competition, which takes place from 15 June to 5 July, the organization team of the cycling competition, together with Radstudio Salzgitter and Volksbank BraWo, is giving away an e-bike worth up to 3,500 euros to all participants who cycle at least 100 kilometers during the campaign period and who are at least 18 years old.
Who can take part in the prize draw?
All cyclists participating in CITY CYCLING 2025 who have cycled at least 100 kilometers during the campaign period and who are at least 18 years old by June 15 are automatically entered into the prize draw. Participation in the prize draw is free of charge.
The kilometers must be tracked via the CITY CYCLING app www.stadtradeln.de/app (opens in a new tab). Manual entries will only be accepted for the prize draw if they are annotated with the start, destination and, if applicable, route of the ride. Only accounts registered for one person will be entered into the prize draw.
The winner will be drawn at the final event of the CITY CYCLING competition. The date will be announced in good time on the website www.stadtradeln.de/salzgitter (opens in a new tab).
The raffle is organized by the City of Salzgitter and the Salzgitter Economic and Innovation Promotion Agency (WIS) together with the sponsors Volksbank Braunschweig-Wolfsburg and Radstudio Salzgitter.
