Mayor Frank Klingebiel: “After its huge success in 2025, StadtStrand
is kicking off its second season! Once again, it’s bringing summer, socializing, and fun to the downtown area
of Salzgitter-Bad—The school break is over, but the vacation continues!”

Mayor Frank Klingebiel highlights the importance of this joint effort and the diverse activities offered at StadtStrand: “Last year, StadtStrand already established itself as a meeting place for people of all ages and helped revitalize our downtown area in Baden. The reactions in 2025 were consistently positive, and the response in 2025 was much stronger than we had hoped. For this reason, I was very happy to make it possible to continue the StadtStrand. Last year, this unique event was made possible with the help of funding for downtown revitalization—funding that I, along with the entire Executive Board of the German Association of Cities, of which I am a member, strongly advocated for. The
costs in 2025, totaling approximately 145,000 euros, were covered 90 percent—or about 130,500 euros—by the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development, and Construction. The remaining 10 percent—14,500 euros—was financed by the City of Salzgitter. Since the federal funding
was intended only as a one-time start-up grant, I included the full costs for 2026 in my draft city budget, which the Salzgitter City Council also approved. This year, too, everyone involved will once again demonstrate just how much diversity
and dedication our city has to offer. Local stakeholders are getting involved and working together to create activities for young and old alike. The summer break may be over, but the vacation continues—right here in Salzgitter-Bad.”

Jan Erik Bohling, Head of the Economic Affairs Department, adds: “Sand beneath your feet, a cozy atmosphere, and a varied program right in the heart of Salzgitter-Bad: From August 14 to 30, the StadtStrand invites you back to Klesmerplatz. For 17 days, the
square will be a summer gathering spot for young and old alike—with music, sports, a wide range of entertainment, and regional cuisine, there’s something for everyone.”

Mayor Frank Klingebiel is thrilled: “Join in, enjoy yourself, or just relax: The StadtStrand offers numerous opportunities to spend time together and experience summer right on your own doorstep. Admission
to the StadtStrand and the entire supporting program are free of charge. Separate ticketing rules apply only to the Silent Party.”
