In the middle of the Black Forest lies the hotel "Zum alten Forsthaus", whose best days are long behind it. Only a few guests stray into the increasingly dilapidated house. So it is all the more surprising that Daniela, a seemingly vulnerable stranger, takes up permanent residence. Lisa, the owner's adult daughter, takes care of her. While Daniela blossoms and quickly integrates into the village community, close confidants turn away from Lisa - ultimately even her husband.
