A special project in a central location in Steterburg: from May to October, a so-called "pop-up parklet" on the market square will improve the quality of stay and invite more people to stop by and linger. The special feature: Citizens as well as institutions and clubs are invited to become active themselves in order to positively shape the market square.
The kick-off will be the hands-on workshops for benches and planters, which will begin on Friday, May 5, at 2 pm. Anyone interested can come along to take part or just have a look. No craft skills are required. The design concept is being developed by Berlin artist Helen Feifel. She will also be on site to guide the construction and accompany the workshops, which will then take place on Saturday, May 6, Tuesday, May 9, Wednesday, May 10 and Thursday, May 11 (each starting at 2 pm). On these days, participants will work together to screw, file, paint and color.
The results will then be presented on the Day of Urban Development on Saturday, May 13.
The newly designed market square can then continue to be actively used by citizens with their own ideas for the community until October.
The elements will then be dismantled and remain in Steterburg for further use.

Information "Pop-up Parklet":
From May to October, a so-called "pop-up parklet" will provide more quality of stay and usage options on the Steterburg market square.
In addition to the blue clock, four parking spaces will be temporarily redesigned with additional seating and planters for flowers and herbs.
Over the summer, an open and green meeting place is to be created in the middle of the estate, where community activities and various smaller events can take place.
In the coming months (until October), the new place will then be actively involved. Committed citizens can also contribute their own ideas to the design of the program.
