Description
In the case of preliminary and/or criminal proceedings against young people (14-17 year olds) or adolescents (18-20 year olds) who have come into conflict with the law, the youth courts automatically call in the youth court assistance service to support the young person or adolescent and their legal guardians or family members.
A specialist team consisting of (socio-educational) staff from the responsible office advises the juveniles or adolescents in the run-up to the investigations, accompanies them to the court hearings if necessary and also provides support after the proceedings have been concluded, including any necessary reintegration measures. If the juvenile court does not appoint a probation officer, the juvenile court assistance also monitors compliance with the court's conditions and instructions.
