What moves you? What makes you smile, marvel, or pause? This special dance class isn’t about perfection or set steps—it’s about expression, connection, and learning together. A variety of music styles from all
the world, free improvisation, and guided exercises combine with opportunities for cultural exchange, reflection, and participation.
In this way, movement becomes the starting point for cultural education, self-education, and shared understanding.
Registration is required at the Volkshochschule vhsstadt.salzgitterde); the course costs 9.10 euros and takes place at the Kniestedter Herrenhaus (Braunschweiger Straße 137a).

2:00 p.m.: Opening of the exhibition by the intercultural creative group at AWISTA Fredenberg. The participants of the creative group will be present: “Dafür!—for diversity, creativity, and the freedom to express what’s inside us.” In our creative course, each participant painted what came from the heart. The result is a diverse exhibition, as unique as the women who created it. With our exhibition, we want to send a message of diversity, creativity, mutual respect, and togetherness.”
The exhibition can be visited during Intercultural Week during AWISTA’s opening hours (Tuesday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.). Admission is free.

6:00 p.m.: Cabaret “Drama Türkin 2.0” (opens in a new tab) with Senay Duzcu, Kulturscheune Salzgitter-Lebenstedt (Thiestraße 22). “A ‘drama’—for the rebelliously refreshing and thought-provoking Turkish comedian Senay Duzcu, a Turkish stand-up comedian, this means she isn’t a typical Turkish woman. For her society, that’s a drama!
The cabaret artist performed in Salzgitter in 2025 and wowed the audience. Guests can look forward to a special follow-up that once again shares stories from her life. Senay Duzcu delivers comedy with depth.

Under the theme “Mosques as Pillars of Social Structure,” the 2026 Open Mosque Day invites visitors to explore the diverse roles of mosque communities in Germany:
Mosques are far more than places of worship—they are places of encounter, dialogue, and social engagement.
At the same time, the theme commemorates 30 years of Open Mosque Day and 77 years of the Basic Law. It underscores that a free and diverse society thrives on people and institutions that take responsibility for the common good.
