In addition to earlier considerations for relieving congestion on through roads, for example in the Mobility Master Plan and the ideas for a bypass developed by the ProSal citizens' initiative, this feasibility study will also examine and evaluate planning options that have not yet been considered further.
For example, the road construction administration is currently examining the conversion of the Salzgitter-Lebenstedt Süd highway junction as part of the necessary renewal of the bridge structure in the street "Vor dem Dorfe". Changes to the entrance and exit ramps could result in new linking options that could help to relieve congestion in the Salder area.
Six options for relieving congestion in Salder are to be included in the comparison of variants:
- Salder eastern bypass (possibly in partial sections) from district road 10 in the north to the L 472 in the south
- Salder south-west bypass from the L 472 to the Salzgitter Lebenstedt Süd highway junction
- Small western bypass Salder via the K 40 (Mindener Straße) to the Salzgitter-Lebenstedt Süd highway junction
- Salder bypass between the K 10 and the L 472 as well as a link between Nord-Süd-Straße and the L 472
- Network extension for the rear development of industrial companies
- Connection from Peiner Straße in the north to Nord-Süd-Straße (mixture of alternatives 1 and 4).
In addition, the overall proposal of the citizens' initiative "proSal" will be examined as an independent variant.
