After several guest appearances (1992, 1998, 2012), the "Geschwister Weisheit" high wire troupe from Salzgittersee's twin town Gotha, the largest and most powerful ensemble of its kind in Europe, is coming to the city for the fourth time on the occasion of the "Seesause" - the festival on Lake Salzgittersee in Lebenstedt. Salzgitter's Lord Mayor Frank Klingebiel personally invited the famous high-wire ensemble "Geschwister Weisheit" from the Thuringian twin town of Gotha on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of their family business to enrich the lake festival on Salzgittersee with another extraordinary attraction.

A new sporting highlight in the region will be launched on Friday, August 22 with the 1st evening run on Salzgittersee as part of the "Seesause".
Organized by the triathlon division of SV Glück Auf Gebhardshagen, there will be races over either 5.4 or 10.8 kilometers.

The flat, asphalted and floodlit course leads around Salzgittersee. The start and finish are located near the Café del Lago at Reppner's Bay. The common starting shot will be fired at 9 pm.

Registration is possible online at www.abendlauf-salzgitter.de (opens in a new tab). Anyone aged twelve and over can take part - no club membership is required.

The cult band "Nullbock" is giving one last farewell concert as part of the "Seesause". They will be coming to their "home port" on Salzgittersee on Friday, August 22 at 9 pm, where they will rock the lake one last time at the water ski facility.

As part of the "Seesause", the sailing club, the water hikers and the Salzgitter marine comradeship are offering water sports activities on Salzgittersee on Saturday, August 23.
The meeting point is the Salzgittersee marina on the street Zum Salzgittersee, or the lagoon.

So if you've always wanted to experience the lake from a different perspective, just drop by from 11 am to 5 pm. Children must be accompanied by their parents. As always with water sports, the event is subject to the weather, so in the event of stormy conditions or continuous rain, it will unfortunately be canceled at short notice.

And the "Salzig Band Contest" is also something to look forward to. It will take place on Saturday, August 23, from 5 to 11 pm at Reppnersche Bucht.

Bands and solo artists from the region will be competing against each other in the contest organized by the City of Salzgitter's Department of Culture. The audience and a jury will decide who wins the contest on this day.

Whether you are a hobby player or an ambitious team - the CJD invites all soccer enthusiasts to compete against other players on August 23, starting at 10 am. Spectators are of course also very welcome. The venue is the sports fields at Salzgittersee (on the island in Salzgittersee - Rote Plätze). The meeting point for participating players is the CJD pavilion.

How to play: 3 players per team - without goalkeeper. Anyone who wants to can take part, they do not have to register but are welcome to do so in advance by emailing Patrick Lipka at patrick.lipkacjdde or by calling 05341/401943. An awards ceremony will take place after the tournament. The first three teams will receive attractive prizes.

Nearby ("left meadow in front of the sports fields"), the Tee-Timers, Discgolf e.V. will be offering taster disc golf for anyone interested at the same time.

On Sunday, August 24, the music band "Fantasie" will be performing at Reppner's Bay at 2 pm. The musicians live inclusion.

Making music, promoting social contacts and having fun are the top priorities for "Fantasie" with the aim of bringing people with and without disabilities together. The band's musical program and styles are wide-ranging, so there is always something suitable for both the musicians and the audience. Under the musical direction of Fritz Ludwig and with the support of Lebenshilfe Salzgitter, the band has grown from five musicians at the beginning to twenty today.

Blanket, bread rolls, favourite people - and a full program of games, sport and culture: at the "Seesause", the Salzgitter Community Foundation will be holding its popular city breakfast for a good cause in Reppnersche Bucht on Sunday, 24 August at 11 am. As every year, tables can be rented and picnic baskets filled with delicious food can be brought along. The result is a big picnic with good music that is celebrated together.

Tickets are only sold directly at the box office on the day of the event. Advance sales are not planned. Clubs, social institutions and private individuals who would like to participate with a group can still register by sending an email to infobuergerstiftung-salzgitterde.
