Sunday, September 27:
The Volkshochschule (VHS) of the City of Salzgitter invites you to the dance project “dafür! Let’s Dance!” (10:30 a.m.). This special dance class isn’t about perfection or set steps—it’s about expression, connection, and learning together.
Monday, September 28:
9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.: Intercultural “Bring-Your-Own” breakfast at AWISTA Fredenberg (Kurt-Schumacher-Ring 4).
2:00 p.m.: Opening of the exhibition by the intercultural creative group at AWISTA Fredenberg. Members of the creative group will be present. The exhibition can be visited during Intercultural Week during AWISTA’s opening hours (Tuesday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.). Admission is free.
3:00–6:00 p.m., SOS Mothers’ Center, HERTA Treff, Erikastraße 11a: Hands-on activities on topics such as music, writing, collages, a communal dinner, childhood, youth slang, etc.
Tuesday, September 29:

6:00 p.m.: Cabaret “Drama Türkin 2.0” with Senay Duzcu, Kulturscheune Salzgitter-Lebenstedt (Thiestraße 22). “A ‘drama’—for the rebelliously refreshing and thought-provoking Turkish comedian Senay Duzcu, a Turkish stand-up comedian, it’s the fact that she isn’t a typical Turkish woman. For her society, that’s a drama!

9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.: The Evangelical Family Education Center in Salzgitter (Kattowitzer Straße 225) invites you to a lecture on multilingual upbringing and language development titled “The Benefits of Children Growing Up Multilingual.” A light breakfast will also be served; registration is required (efbsalzgitterlk-bsde or 05341/836330).
2:30 p.m.: The “Bring Your Own” tea and coffee hour—“A Table Full of Cultures”—will take place in cooperation with the Citizen Service for Migrants at AWISTA Fredenberg (Kurt-Schumacher-Ring 4). The food brought should reflect the guests’ cultural backgrounds. A relaxed get-together to strike up conversations with one another. 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.: Open Mosque Day, IGMG Salzgitter-Lebenstedt (Am Haudorn 2a, 38226 Salzgitter): The program includes a tour of the mosque, a lecture on the topic “Mosques as Pillars of Social Structure,” a Q&A session, and an open discussion.
Sunday, October 4:
4:00 p.m.: “Bunte Sole” Award Ceremony (Fredenberg High School Auditorium, Hans-Böckler-Ring 20a, 38226 Salzgitter). Who will receive this year’s City of Salzgitter Integration Award?

The 51st nationwide Intercultural Week will take place in Salzgitter from Sunday, September 27, through Sunday, October 4.

On Tuesday, September 29, at 6:00 p.m., Senay Duzcu will perform her cabaret show “Drama Türkin 2.0” at the Kulturscheune in Lebenstedt (Thiestraße 22). Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is free. You can register in advance to reserve a seat by emailing integrationstadt.salzgitterde
About the show: In 2025, Senay Duzcu presented her show “Drama Türkin” in Salzgitter, in which she explained that it was a source of drama for her family that she hadn’t become a “typical Turkish woman.” Her parents would have liked her to become a proper housewife and marry a Turkish man. Because she couldn’t fulfill all of that as a woman, she was always the black sheep of the family. All her experiences led to extremely funny situations, which she recounts on stage and laughs about.
