Food monitoring

Description

Description

Every consumer expects flawless and safe food. This is first and foremost the responsibility of all operators in the food chain.
Through risk-based, systematic controls and sampling, the food control authorities check whether food business operators have implemented and comply with the requirements of food law and, if necessary, enforce them.
If deficiencies are identified, it is the task of the official food control authorities to ensure that these are rectified immediately and that violations of existing legislation are punished.
The monitoring of cosmetic products, tobacco products and consumer goods is organized in a similar way.
Further information can also be found on the website of the Lower Saxony State Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety (LAVES).
